During our media class, we watched the film 'Memento' which was released in the year 2000.
As the film begins, right in the beggining we are shown the production company who is called 'Newmarket'. This gives them a brand identity and emphasises them. There is a repeat of the production company saying 'Newmarket presents' Founded in 1994 'Memento' was Newmarket's first ever production, released in the year 2000. The repition of the company names brings them recognition as a distribution and production company so there greatly publisizing their name in hope of bringing lots of awareness.
After we are then followed by the name Christopher Nolan who directs the film, which appears not once but twice with 'a film by' and also 'directed by' so this could be Nolans way of showing that the film wouldnt be such a great film if it wasnt for him, so it greatly emphasises his position in the making of the film.
Moreover, we are then shown the names of the three main characters of the film then followed by the title of the film 'Memento' this is aquainted by an increase of the volume of the music led by a fade then into the opening scene of the film itself.
